The Bugatti Veyron is a street car that has a claimed top speed of 253mph, but who would ever be able to test that claim? Acclaimed British car show Top Gear obtained access to Volkswagen’s test track to do so, and you can watch the results below. I saw this on John Chow’s site, whom I will call the root of all evil simply because he really appreciates people linking to him that way; and I had to post it here for all the car nuts in my family.

Yeah, I called you nuts, you know who are! But what ya gonna do about it? Get upset, and I might not post more of these.

Well we just had a 1/4 of a second power outage here, just as I was getting ready to publish a long post that I was finishing editting. While I recreate that post, enjoy the following; which summarize exactly why I don’t watch Lost, nor a bunch of other shows out lately that require that you see every episode to keep track of what is going on.

I’ll admit it, I plug an external mouse into my notebook at work; however, this is just for convenience sake. I have two more notebooks in my desk, and we have notebooks all over the support floor and in our lab. Even our incoming fax machine is just a notebook. And when I go to use any of them, I am perfectly comfortable using the touchpad, pointing stick, or whatever the particular machine uses; after all, I’ve been working with notebooks for 5 1/2 years.

I mention this as I am constantly amazed and frustrated that the majority of my coworkers cannot use these things, and they will loudly announce how much they hate them (or worse, will tell customers that they feel that touchpads are horrible devices). It’s a bit ridiculous… I may be the longest term employee in our group, but many of them have been there for years also. Perhaps I’ve been so successful with them and our customers because I took the point of view from day one that I should learn to use the equipment as our customers use it.

Which is what makes this video I just came across so poignant. I’ll be bookmarking this at work so that I can say “If a two year old can do it, why can’t you?”

Not quite sure how this guy combines both the beatbox and the precise airflow the flute requires, but the result is certainly impressive.
