Since I’m behind, I have quite a few contests I can share. These include both contests in the blogshere that require a blog post or a visit to another blog, and general contests being held by companies that may have nothing to do with the internet. From the comments on previous contest posts, I am under the impression that these posts are appreciated. But maybe I’m wrong. The last thing I would want to do is alienate my readers with a bunch of contest spam.

My reasons for posting such contests so far are that they are usually decent prizes with decent odds of winning.  The blog authors do so to draw attention to their blogs and get valuable link backs for search engine rankings.  I’ve only entered a few contests, and already have won a Canucks jersey and a USB TV Tuner.

So I’m asking for your opinion in the comments, even if you are someone that doesn’t normally comment. How much, if any, should I post about contests? I’m not sure if I’ll get many opinions, so I might have to make the decision without any advice, but to let you know possible routes I have thought of that I could go are:

• Continue the odd post when posting is a requirement for me to be entered into a contest. If you do make a comment and lean this way, I’d appreciate knowing if it is because you tolerate the occasional post if it gives me a chance of winning something, or if you actually like them because it informs you of a contest you can enter.
• Post more, searching out every blog contest I can find, so that others can also enter them.
• Post even more by posting both blog contests and any other contests I can find. Being Canadian and finding that so many contests out there are tend to accept American entires only, in this case I would tend to lean towards publicizing contests that are open to Canadian and/or worldwide entries.
• Post nothing at all, because it annoys people too much.

If it seems that people respond well to lots of contest posts, I might have to consider starting a separate blog just for those posts, as I don’t want it to completely take this one over.
