I’m going to try and start to make briefer posts in hope of getting back to regular posting despite school and work getting the majority of my waking hours. I think I will soon finish off with all the computers that need fixing; I keep thinking I’m almost done and then another arrives before I can finish the current ones.
Part of the problem with blogging is… blogs. There are so many great ones out there, and I find that I can’t even find the time to read all the ones that I want to keep up with, which definitely leaves no time for my own blogging. I’ve been surprised to find a few blogs mention mine, and I do want to reciprocate and point you to a few that I quite enjoy. If you’re reading my blog and have given me some link love, but I didn’t return the love, don’t assume that means I didn’t enjoy your blog. Instead, you actually might be part of the reason I’ve not been updating regularly; maybe I’ve been reading your blog in my few spare moments. I’ll talk about it more in future posts.
Karin and I also need to decide what to do if we are going to keep blogging. We were both pleased to get a half-decent Page Rank from Google on the last update. I realize that most would not be happy with a rank of 3, but considering we do not try and promote our blogs, I was quite amazed. What that means, though, is that we have to consider what we would do if our blogs became even more popular. Would we then wish that we had set up our own domain(s), but not to be able to easily do so at that point? Should we maybe set up a domain now, and hope that our few readers will go through the pain of following us over there? I know that changing domains is an easy way to lose readers, and I don’t have that many to start. Then comes the attempting to build links and Page Rank all over again.
But if we’re going to do it, we should do it now.
Anyway, brief thoughts for now, I’ll post other things going through my head soon.
